Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Summary of the Position:

The maintenance supervisor manages all phases of manufacturing, processing, and packaging machinery inclusive of facility building maintenance personnel and day to day manufacturing operations to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired in a cost efficient manner.

 

Functions of the Position:

Manages all phases of processing, packaging and facility equipment and staff of technicians, fabricators and building maintenance personnel, etc. including: hiring, daily supervision, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.Prepares work, maintenance, and staffing schedule, assigns work appropriately and ensures services are performed to meet manufacturing and facility needs.Plans, manages and reviews computer maintenance management system (CMMS) for preventative maintenance and repair schedules.Makes recommendations to improve efficiencies and reduce down time, labor, and over-time expenses.Manages equipment purchasing and contract services as necessary. Works with purchasing department on negotiation and any contract work as needed.Monitors costs and yearly budget.Ensures compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. Trains staff in safety as necessary.Assists in additional duties and responsibilities as needed.Continually · Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.

 

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

Ten plus years of experience in maintenance and staff management in the food industry preferred. General knowledge of plumbing, electric, machine building, PLC’s and community codes.High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Skills and Competencies: 

Computer skills including computer maintenance management system (CMMS)/planning, AutoCAD software, and Microsoft Excel.
