Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) is a drug product & finished goods manufacturing organization responsible for the reliable delivery of Roche’s commercial portfolio & pipeline products. The Operations organization at HTO is divided into 2 value streams, which combine to produce millions of units of life-saving medicine every year to patients around the world.
The Opportunity:
As an integrated part of the Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) team, you will perform a wide variety of tasks and operations required to inspect and package sterile pharmaceutical products in a state-of-the-art, automated production facility. In this dynamic position position, you will lead or assist in major equipment overhauls, repairs, and installations for packaging and inspection equipment. You will also troubleshoot, maintain, assemble, install, and repair all electronic, mechanical, and instrumentation devices on production equipment as required.
You will adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
You will perform safety and housekeeping audits as required.
You will assist in disassembly, cleaning, setup, change over, and test running of equipment.
You will make mechanical and electrical adjustments necessary for the correct operation of the equipment.
You will work with Production Maintenance, Assets Instrumentation, and external vendors in the repair, maintenance, and calibration of processing equipment as required.
You will perform or coordinate major and minor overhauls of production equipment as needed.
You will perform training of other Assets Mechanics and Manufacturing Technicians.
You will assist in the development of plant SOPs and training materials.
You will execute production recipes, check in equipment, and perform material movements using automated computer software applications (SAP and MES systems).
You will assist and/or operate final vial packaging equipment. Perform material handling in the plant as required.
You will at the start and finish of each shift, report and make recommendations regarding equipment, components, repairs, and process concerns focused on improving reliability, yield, and efficiency.
You will support troubleshooting, PMs, and major equipment improvements/upgrades for areas outside of Finished Goods when needed.
You will perform cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.

Who you are:
You are the graduate of a two-year associate degree program in Electrical/Mechanical Technology (or equivalent). Bachelor degree in Electrical/Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) is a plus.
For Maintenance Specialist, you have eight years of experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical and electrical equipment. For Senior Maintenance Specialist level you have a minimum of 12 years experience.
You have extensive experience with washing, filling, conveying, sealing, inspection and packaging of products/containers is highly desirable.
You have extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical, electronic, chemical, food, cosmetics, and/or other medical industries is preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations:
You will comply with cGMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Genentech standards.
Practical understanding of OSHA, NEC, State and Federal regulations as applied to the equipment and operation.
You can lift 50 pounds, and stand for an extended time.
Must be able to perform lock out tag out (LOTO) of systems utilizing procedures, piping & instrumentation diagrams, and drawings.
Work in close proximity to hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam, and moving machinery/equipment.
You have the ability to work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule to support manufacturing operations as needed.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Hillsboro, OR is $62,000 - $116,000 for the Maintenance Specialist level and $72,000 - $133,000 for the Senior Maintenance Specialist role. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
