Maintenance Scheduler

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for creating, planning and scheduling maintenance work orders. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

Under minimal supervision, evaluate maintenance work order load and schedule work using planning software for daily, weekly or longer term to maximize efficiency and enhance productivityRe-prioritize scheduled work in response to emergencies, availability of parts, and equipment to make efficient use of maintenance team member timeParticipate in developing and updating predictive, preventative and condition-based maintenance programs and criteria for installed operational equipment; reviews criteria and participates in monitoring and evaluating effectivenessMaintain data records and files of work performed, cost, etc for effective analysisDevelop and maintain backlog of ready work orders for mechanicsGenerate and update equipment preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, adjusting as needed to meet changing conditions (i.e. run times, production schedules, etc)Run and distribute monthly open item report verifying all open items are up to dateCreate work orders (W/O) ensuring all required information (i.e. equipment numbers, maintenance classifications, budget item, shut down requirements, etc.) are accurateWork in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulationsOther duties as assigned (i.e. back-up receptionist, mail distribution, etc.)

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Intermediate computer skills requiredExcellent verbal skills and ability to comprehend and effectively communicate in English requiredHighly effective interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with all levels within the organizationExcellent organizational skills, with precise attention to detailDemonstrated sound work ethic, high degree of personal integrity, honesty and moral characterAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently lifts 10-15 lbs and occasionally up to 70 lbsAbility to work in a cold/wet and/or hot environmentWill be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving productionFrequently walks throughout facilityFrequently subject to extreme wet and cold, as well as hot and humid environmentsMay work around live and/or raw animal smells
