Job Purpose:
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Maintenance Mechanical Technician Job Duties:
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on CNC machines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using PIV, hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Provide mechanical maintenance information by providing feedback to work orders, answering questions and requests.Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Perform work using safe practices in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, such as Tag Out/ Lock out procedures.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Required Skills
HS or GED, prefer technical school in relevant field.Demonstrate strong understanding of the maintenance and repair of hydraulic systemsProvide professional top tier maintenance service to all internal customersDemonstrate strong commitment to the PM processDemonstrate commitment to all plant safety practices and proceduresEffectively communicate with other associates in a team-based environmentExercise good decision making and judgment skills and ability to work without direct leadershipWhat You Need To Succeed
Previous experience in high volume manufacturing is required.Minimum Five (5) years Industrial Maintenance experience preferredAbility to read prints and troubleshoot.Specific knowledge and experience with PLC’s, hydraulics, pneumatics, and piping is required.Experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment installation, and repair and troubleshooting of large automated systems.Position requires incumbents to spend significant time on their feet and walking (8 or more hours per day)Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassistedAbility to work from elevated heightsAbility to work in confined space areasOccasional bending, twisting, squatting and stooping to troubleshoot and repair equipmentMust be available to work multiple shifts, when required.Must be available to work overtime hours as needed.
