BENEFITS INFORMATION: For information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.com JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Mechanic (Levels I & II) are responsible for following daily work assignments to meet GMP standards while following all company safety policies and general policies: troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and installing all production line equipment. This position is also responsible for removing, disassembling, reassembling and re-installing pistons during washouts. The Maintenance Mechanics also performs all monthly preventive maintenance procedures for packaging line equipment and is responsible for performing the maintenance roll in the bi-annual production line deep cleaning-super sanitization procedure. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects Perform daily work assignments as assigned by the Maintenance Group Leader, Maintenance Supervisor or Department Manager. Respond to pages for repairs, adjustments, & issues on production lines. Work on projects (equipment re-location, installations, & upgrades) Complete work orders for repairs and logging all activities in logbooks when required. Pull, disassemble, reassemble and re-install pistons during washout. Pull and reinstall change parts for cleaning Perform Line size changeovers, monthly Line Preventive Maintenance, and maintenance functions for Deep Cleaning-Super Sanitizations Maintain shop area for change & spare parts storage Request needed supplies Look for and report potential safety issues Look for and recommend changes for improvement Attend and comprehend monthly safety training Perform assigned Monthly Safety Inspections QUALIFICATIONS Education High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or trade school Experience 5 Years high-speed packaging line maintenance including plumbing and basic electrical Skills Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in English Ability to read, analyze and interpret general policies Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and inter-department staff Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner Ability to read, comprehend equipment manuals and blueprints-schematics Ability to understand and follow training in department areas such as SOP’s, Safety, Conduct, etc Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner Planning / Organization - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner Uses time effectively Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner Gathers and analyzes information skillfully Develops alternative solutions including immediate corrective actions and recommend preventative measures Judgment: Exhibits sound and accurate judgment Makes timely decisions Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner Reacts well under pressure Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position Accepts responsibility for your own actions Follows through on commitments Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time Ensures work responsibilities and customer requirements are covered when absent.
