**Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a leading global distributor of specialty metals, we stock and process tube, pipe, bar, extrusions, sheet, and plate in various materials including stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, titanium, carbon, and alloy.
**Responsibilities**
+ Manages, installs, troubleshoots, and repairs complex equipment with minimal supervision to ensure efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities.
+ Ensures optimal functioning of all production and facility equipment.
+ Dismantles, re-installs, and assembles machinery and plant equipment.
+ Coordinates activities with other supervisors to ensure smooth departmental operations.
+ Diagnoses and manages repairs for production equipment failures.
+ Performs electrical work such as removing and replacing motors and fuses.
+ Conducts routine preventative maintenance tasks.
+ Maintains equipment PM schedule and logs maintenance activity.
+ Handles routine building maintenance and repairs, including generators, air handling units, heating and cooling equipment, and plumbing.
+ Records maintenance data and activities to track proper maintenance of facilities equipment.
+ Uses and interprets equipment manuals to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
+ Generates purchase requisitions if necessary.
**Essential Skills**
+ Seven to ten years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, or a related field.
+ Familiarity with warehousing operations and knowledge of OSHA regulations.
+ Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Basic mathematics skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
+ Excellent communication skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with maintenance technician roles, repair, mechanical work, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, welding, schematics, and blueprints.
+ Trainable on vendor scheduling, part sourcing, and purchasing if not already experienced.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.47/hr.
