Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** According to established procedures and specific instructions, installs, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic also performs routine building repair tasks. Demonstrates professionalism and self-motivation in order to perform routine duties, and assisting others including outside vendors, as scheduled or required. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** • Must have Graduated High School or equivalent (GED) • Must have 2 years of relevant work experience • Ability to read and work from architectural and mechanical blue prints, drawings, and schematics. • Has a background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, pipefitting, and steam plant operations. • Basic interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and the ability to concentrate. • Safe use of hand and power tools. • Generally able to conduct physical activities associated with the performance of this job. • Experienced with computers with an understanding in using Computerized Maintenance • Management Systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet **Responsibilities:** 1. Provides technical services for Utilities, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, steam, medical air, vacuum systems, preventative maintenance, repairs and installation according to established procedures and code compliance. 2. Maintains and operates Life Safety equipment and Utilities management equipment for the Hospital. 3. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment per the established Hospital PM Program. 4. Responsible for maintaining mechanical equipment rooms, floors, lighting, and equipment inspections. 5. Takes ownership of assigned zone to improve the zone maintenance program.
