Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment in our facility. This role ensures that all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems operate efficiently and safely to support production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and forklifts.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and failures promptly.
- Conduct inspections and tests on equipment to identify issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Provide training to operators on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Help team accomplish miscellaneous tasks during any periods of downtime.
- Participates in Safety and CI programs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a lumber or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
