Your role at KIK

 

As Maintenance Mechanic I - 2nd Shift you will be responsible for scheduling and performing routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic and identify and replace worn or defective parts in a timely manner.  The 2nd Shift is Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. The starting rate is $32.00/hr with a $.50 shift differential and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Sets up production equipment to run scheduled productionDiscusses difficulties in operating equipment with machine operators to isolate problems, and then troubleshoots machine to determine cause and repairs required.Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals as well as be able to document any and all changes they are involved in. so as to refer back to the notes and records a thereby gain understanding as to how to set up lines an adjust machines and conveyors as needed.Performs necessary repairs on equipment to keep it in top running order.Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipmentCarries out required preventative maintenance on equipment.Assists in determining required design modifications and makes approved modifications to equipment.Performs tasks in accordance with approved procedures and following all safety procedures and GMP's.Provides coverage for mechanics on other shifts, as needed.Must be able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team setting.Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What You’ll Bring

 

Minimum 4 years’ mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skillsGood knowledge of preventative maintenance programsMust be flexible to work Shift Work (days, afternoons, nights)Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changesExcellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout ProceduresWorking knowledge of computerized maintenance management software’s an assetMust pay attention to details with a customer service attitudeStrong team player with excellent problem-solving skills
