Description
We are looking for an experience Maintenance Manager to manage the maintenance functions of the plant through the effective planning, directing, and coordinating of all maintenance activities, including the installation, troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and improvement of the company's equipment and facility. Emphasis should be placed upon making the equipment as reliable, productive and easy to operate as possible. Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner and drive the use of 5S practices in the Maintenance Department.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage, develop and implement all programs and activities of the maintenance department, including preventive maintenance, to ensure continuous production and efficient use of resources
+ Provide knowledge and information of maintenance procedures required for all plant electrical and mechanical equipment. This includes heat treating equipment, materials handling equipment, equipment controls, fabrication equipment and plant utilities.
+ Develop departmental work schedules and assignments. Provide direct supervision of maintenance personnel.
+ Implement and sustain safe work practices and programs.
+ Determine and track priorities with the Plant Manager. Maintain a prioritized written list of all maintenance tasks and projects.
+ Develop and implement plans for cost reduction projects and continuous improvement of equipment. Coordinate cost effective use of electricity, natural gas and all other utilities. Assist in developing company goals and work to achieve them.
+ Promote and environment in which all maintenance employees are engaged in their roles and identify potential improvement opportunities.
+ Maintain files, manuals, and drawings and specifications concerning the equipment. Maintain the written log of electrical modification work as required by the City of St. Louis. Supply information required to the Plant Manager, maintenance personnel, and the Engineering Dept. concerning the specifications on equipment and the proper operation of equipment.
+ Ensure conformity to all regulations, such as OSHA and EPA, as well as internal safety practices and policies. Evaluate and implement when beneficial recommendations of insurance carriers.
+ Assist, as requested, in long range planning and plant layout.
+ Display a commitment to high standards and demand this in others. Conduct performance reviews for subordinates to develop and maximize their capabilities for the benefit of the individual and the company.
+ Coordinate the efforts of maintenance, production, engineering, and other internal and external groups as necessary. Provide support to these teams. Attend and participate in planning, staff, and quality meetings as needed.
+ Manage outside contractor and vendor activities as required. Manage the purchasing of supplies and equipment as needed.
+ Lead department in providing technical training and guidance. Seek additional information from other groups within the company and externally as needed. Keep abreast of technological advancements and developments in the field through continuing education programs.
+ Represent the company's position and interest in a positive and productive manner.
+ Communicate daily with the Plant Manager on issues relating to the effectiveness of the maintenance department and production.
+ Assume additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of industrial furnaces, heat processing equipment or PLCs a plus.
+ Thorough knowledge of electrical and electronics, pipe fitting, instrumentation, temperature control devices, welding, and supervisory and organizational skills.
+ Knowledge of high pressure gas such as Nitrogen and Argon.
+ Must respond promptly to plant emergencies when necessary.
Education:
Requires a BS in mechanical/electrical or AS degree with equivalent electrical/mechanical training.
Experience:
+ Three to five years of maintenance management experience with a strong electrical background and strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Familiar with Quality Programs.
+ Familiar with effective preventative maintenance programs.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
+ Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo’s Vehicle Use Policy.
+ Any certification of process knowledge a plus.
+ Training in supervision, management, and business preferred.
