Other duties may be assigned. + Organize and document all required maintenance records for cranes, hoists, forklifts, tractors and fleet vehicles. + Negotiates with vendors for new tool orders and repairs for equipment in the plant. + Monitor inventory of all tools and equipment to prevent theft and loss. + Investigate abuse and excessive damage to tools and equipment to control costs to facility. + Manage log of tools assigned to each employee to prevent loss. **Supervisory Responsibilities** Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED required + 3+ years relevant experience in maintenance + Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems + Previous managerial experience highly preferred + Experience managing multiple vendors + Can effectively and efficiently handle both administrative and mechanical responsibilities + Makes safety a priority at all times **Work Environment** The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
