Maintenance Lubrication Technician - Fostoria, OH
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Lubrication Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of equipment and machinery by ensuring that all moving parts are properly lubricated. This includes applying lubrication to parts, checking and changing lubricants, and ensuring all systems are working efficiently. The technician will perform inspections, identify lubrication needs, and monitor inventory.
Key Responsibilities:Lubrication Maintenance: Apply the appropriate lubricants to machinery, engines, and equipment based on manufacturer recommendations and operational guidelines.Oil and Grease Changes: Replace oils, grease, and other lubricants in various machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.Inspection & Monitoring: Conduct routine inspections to monitor lubrication levels, fluid conditions, and system performance. Identify and resolve lubrication issues.Maintenance Schedules: Develop, Maintain and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for lubrication tasks, ensuring that equipment is serviced at the appropriate intervals.Record Keeping: Document and maintain accurate records of lubrication activities, oil changes, inspections, and maintenance performed in a CMMS.System Checks: Conduct inspections and maintenance on lubrication systems, ensuring proper function of pumps, lines, and filters.Equipment Setup & Calibration: Set up lubrication equipment and perform calibration to meet operational standards.Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner. Ensure proper disposal of used lubricants and chemicals.Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment failures related to lubrication and address issues in a timely manner.Inventory Management: Monitor and manage lubricant supplies and reorder as needed to ensure consistent availability of materials.Maintenance Support : Additional maintenance activities as needed.Skills & Qualifications:Technical Skills: Understanding of lubrication systems, oil types, and machinery maintenance.Attention to Detail: Ability to identify lubrication issues before they cause significant problems.Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of how machinery operates and how lubrication affects machine performance.Physical Stamina: The role may require lifting heavy containers, bending, and working in various physical environments.Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and correct lubrication-related issues.Communication Skills: Ability to report on findings, communicate with maintenance teams, and document actions clearly.Educational Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent.Additional technical certifications or training in maintenance, machinery, or lubrication is a plus.Prior experience working with lubrication systems or in an industrial maintenance role is preferred.Working Conditions:Physical Demands: Ability to work in industrial environments, including outdoor locations and areas with high noise levels.Hours: May involve shift work, including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.PPE: Protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) required.Salary Range:The salary for a Lubrication Technician may vary depending on location, experience, and industry. On average, the annual salary ranges from 27.00 to 29.00/hour
