Maintenance Lead

Pay:  Current maintenance rate plus $2.00 job premium.

Position Summary : 

\r\n

Maintenance lead position responsible for assisting the Supervisor with duties in the maintenance area while ensuring that job tasks, assignments, and safety are followed.  The Lead will also be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks and focused on training all maintenance personnel to support the daily goals .

\r\n

Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:

\r\n\r\nFollows direction of Maintenance Supervisor to assign and instruct personnel of daily maintenance duties.\r\nProvide training to new hires for all shifts, providing feedback and assessments to supervision as needed.\r\n\r\n\r\nPerform diagnostics to identify equipment problems and repair/build parts accordingly.\r\nFollow designated schedule to perform routine preventive maintenance.\r\nInspect, diagnose, disassemble, repair, and replace electrical and other equipment components.\r\nDisconnect/remove old equipment and install new equipment.\r\nWeld equipment and parts using mig, tig, and stick methods.\r\nPerform mill/lathe work as needed.\r\nPerform plumbing work as needed.\r\nMust have working knowledge with electrical 3ph 208 and 480 volts.\r\nComplete paperwork accurately to ensure proper documentation is maintained in equipment and repairs.\r\nPerform general housekeeping as it relates to performing and cleaning up after repairs.\r\nAccountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours. .\r\n\r\n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

\r\n\r\nAbility to work in a fast paced environment.\r\nFollows all safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines in additional to maintenance-specific guidelines.\r\nBasic math skills required.\r\nAbility to take accurate measurements and maintain paperwork throughout shift.\r\nAbility to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.\r\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere\r\nMust be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. \r\nMust be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.\r\nMust pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.\r\nSome positions may require the ability to read, write, and/or speak English.\r\n\r\n

Physical Requirements :

\r\n\r\nStanding (12 hours a day or more)\r\nLifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more) \r\nOperating hand held and/or mechanical machinery\r\nWalking/climbing stairs.  Gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists\r\nBending and stooping for long periods of time.\r\n\r\n

Working Conditions/Department Description:

\r\n\r\nShifts are 12 hours, either day or night.  Schedules are Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, ½ Wednesday and ½ Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Overtime work may be required.\r\nThere is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which may include extra work days during the week, depending upon operational needs.\r\nJob assignments are subject to the supervisor’s discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs.\r\nMay work in damp, cold, hot, and warm environments and some jobs work in seasonal outdoor conditions.\r\nWork with loud and noisy machinery.\r\nWork with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odors.\r\nWorking with animal organs and animal feces.\r\n\r\n
