Maintenance/Facilities Work Team Leader(Supervisor)

GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides manufacturing/facilities support and supervises maintenance activities for a single shift.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops and maintains individual performance plans for all Maintenance / Facilities employees.

Ensures an effective work order management system is maintained.

Manages the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS, currently Maximo) within Machine Maintenance or Facilities to track asset history, costs, preventive maintenance, and spare parts.

May manage and maintain apprenticeship records for apprentices.

May participate in machine qualification activities to ensure adequate machine documentation, PM, spare parts, features of serviceability of purchased and custom-designed equipment are provided.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested.

Plans and manages multiple tasks, projects, schedules, and related budgets (capital, expense, planning, and spending).

Provides accurate and timely maintenance-related EtQ database information.

Provides accurate and timely Time and Attendance (TAS) database information.

Provides effective work team leadership of HMI employees, skilled trades personnel, and contracted employees to ensure manufacturing equipment/support equipment and/or facilities/infrastructure are functional to meet plant or facility goals.

Utilizes effective leadership skills to understand and continually improve the morale within the Maintenance department.

Provides guidance to and mentors colleagues.

Provides information and compliance documentation from Maintenance / Facilities activities to satisfy reporting requirements for governmental and regulatory agencies and / or risk management purposes.

Supports Maintenance-related emergency response efforts as directed by Environmental Affairs and/or Safety and Security.

Understands and utilizes PM and TPM programs to ensure the continuous reduction of downtime and emergency repairs.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma and related post-high school education required: Four-year technical degree in a related field or equivalent expertise. Journeyman status is preferred.

Minimum five years of plant maintenance/facility maintenance experience with at least two years in a leadership capacity.

Technically competent in area of expertise --with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and equipment and/or telecom and data infrastructure maintenance.

Must maintain an awareness of governmental regulations in safety,
environmental, and emergency response.

Familiarity with MIOSHA standards relating to plant operations.

Experience with PLC controls, PC's, PM and TPM systems, tool cribs, supply and inventory systems, compressors, dryers and other plant support equipment, pneumatic and electrical distribution systems, material handling equipment, HVAC, and experience with plant safety quality and environmental programs.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with engineers, managers, production work team leaders, employees, outside contractors, and other service groups.

Proven capability to manage people and lead teams through change and resolve conflicts.

Effective problem-solving skills.
