Job Description
The Maintenance/Expeditor is a critical role in NANA’s Protection Program, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of maintenance activities and expediting the timely delivery of parts and materials to remote NANA lands. This position requires a strong understanding of NANA’s land tenure and resource management, as well as a commitment to protecting NANA’s lands and resources.
Responsibilities
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on NANA’s remote equipment, to include boats, trailer, ATV’s, snow mobiles and accessories.
Coordinate with outside vendors for major repairs or installations, ensuring compliance with NANA’s contracting procedures.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and maintenance logs.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and NANA’s safety protocols
Expediting:
Monitor and track the status of purchase orders and work orders for parts and materials needed for maintenance projects.
Expedite the delivery of parts and materials to remote NANA lands, coordinating with logistics teams and carriers.
Communicate with suppliers and vendors to resolve issues and expedite deliveries.
Coordinate with Protection Officers to ensure they have the necessary parts and materials to complete their tasks.
Maintain inventory levels of critical maintenance supplies at remote locations.
Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in maintenance or expediting preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven experience working on small engines, preferably in a recreational vehicle or outdoor power equipment setting
Strong understanding of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine operation, fuel systems, electrical systems, and emissions control systems.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical diagrams
Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, in various field conditions
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions.
Noise level: Moderate to Loud
Description of environment: This position is located in remote villages of the NANA Region.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: Yes, up to 50%
