Maintenance Engineer Lead
Job Description

Job Summary:

Under the management of the Facilities Manager and/or Facilities Director, performs maintenance mechanic work and provides working guidance to a team of maintenance mechanics, ensuring that day-to-day activities for the associated buildings are maintained at a high level of efficiency and accuracy, and are completed per departmental policy guidelines. Maintenance activities include Electrical Systems, Mechanical equipment, Plumbing, Sewer, medical air connections, medical vacuum connections, water systems, Medical beds, Utility lighting, Refrigeration and all related work orders and preventive maintenance to maintain code requirements.  Works with vendors and suppliers for repair of equipment and ensuring spare parts are on hand to maintain ongoing operations.  Provides ongoing working operator support to staff in performance of daily activities.

Licensure:  NA

Experience:

Four years of related experience.

Education:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.  

Registration/Certification: N/A

Job Knowledge & Skills:

Read and understand manufacturers' schematic and wiring diagrams.

Read and understand building mechanical and electrical diagrams

Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical equipment.

Use a variety of hand tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical equipment.

Use a variety of hand tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair building utility systems to include electrical, plumbing, sewer and medical gasses.

Demonstrates ability to perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections

Research maintenance manuals to determine the correct repair part for ordering.

Prioritize work requests in accordance with established guidelines.

Utilize a working knowledge of codes and regulations related to building utility systems 

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of equipment operation related to area of assignment such as Electrical Systems, Mechanical equipment, Plumbing, Sewer, medical air connections, medical vacuum connections, water systems, Medical beds,Utility lighting, Refrigeration

Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external customers.

Requires analytical and organizational skills to investigate and evaluate customer service requests, conduct follow-up research on supplies and services, make recommendations and monitor processes, to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with hospital guidelines and policies.

Requires leadership, group activity and communication skills promoting teamwork and group achievement.
