Maintenance Engineer A
Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various equipment within our distribution center. Your role will involve working with PLC Control Logic, electrical, mechanical, and analytical systems, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesExhibit proven troubleshooting skills in all aspects of distribution center maintenance, including PLC Control Logic, electrical, mechanical, and analytical systems.Demonstrate safe work practice behaviors and understand safety considerations related to equipment installations and troubleshooting.Identify and resolve equipment-related problems and process performance issues using systematic troubleshooting methods.Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, fixtures, motors, outlets, enclosures, and other equipment to increase capacity, repair breakdowns, or improve efficiency.Analyze and repair electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment, including conveyor/sortation, building/facility, and fire/safety systems.Assist in testing and calibrating electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC controls under operating conditions with or without assistance from specialized contractors.Perform diagnostic tests, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, pyrometers, pressure gauges, tachometers, light meters, thermal imagers, potentiometers, multi-meters, and other instrumentation devices.Test, calibrate, and repair pneumatic controls, HVAC controls, pumps, fans, valves, PLC’s, electronic eyes, photo-eyes/photocells, emitters/receivers, motors, and motor starters/inverters, relays, etc.Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections of assigned equipment, report findings, and take corrective actions if possible.Document and communicate recurring equipment malfunctions and reliability concerns, and lead efforts to implement corrective action recommendations.Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to seek out similar issues for resolution and to build justification for replacement equipment.Develop and present training and communication sessions related to new, modified, or complex equipment operations.Operate and troubleshoot label application equipment as required to maintain a documented record of label quality.Assist in routine preventative maintenance inspections, including lubrication of both stationary and moving equipment with oils, greases, and other lubricants.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProven troubleshooting skills in PLC Control Logic, electrical, mechanical, and analytical areas.Strong electrical experience, including estop, PLC programming, ladder logic, multimeter, motor controls, Siemens, conveyor, VFD, and schematics.Ability to read ladder logic and distinguish wire colors.Strong PLC expereince with the ability to open a PLC cabinet and read the I/Os using schematics for troubleshooting.Additional Skills & Qualifications5-7 years of mechanical maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, conveyors, and sortation experience in a distribution environment.A minimum of two years of proven, demonstrated, and verifiable electrical/electronic experience is desired.Experience in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Ability to pass the Bennett Test.Why Work Here?

The facility is brand new, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and conveyors, and is climate controlled.

Work Environment

The work environment is a climate-controlled, brand new facility with new equipment. The available shifts are: 1st shift (Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM) and 2nd shift (Sunday to Thursday, 3 PM to 11 PM).

This is a Contract position based out of Palmetto, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00
