Venetia Mine is in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Currently, we are mining in an open-pit operation and preparations are already under way to convert to underground mining, which is expected to extend the life of the mine to 2046.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to control quality and safety, perform over inspections, control costs and report progress on tasks in the housing maintenance department.

It will be required of the successful incumbent to:

Providing advance notification with regards to Control and Maintenance aspects of the maintenance of contracts in TownContinuously monitor trends on maintenance and advise the Foremen accordingly to ensure continuous improvementAssign work and monitor the adherence by contractor according to the scope of work as determined in the contractPerform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availabilityPreparation of schedules for Maintenance of equipment according to technical specifications and organisational standardsCo-ordinating, where necessary, alterations to the schedules for Maintenance, to suit the operating and maintenance sectionsManage work orders (job cards) and requestsAssign work according to maintenance schedule and monitor the adherence by the contractor according to the scope of work as determined in the contractEnsuring compliance to the necessary specifications and regulations for maintenance tasksOverseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessaryHandling basic repairs and maintenance

Qualifications

Education & Experience

 Grade 12 Certificate/ N3 or relevant NQF level 4 qualificationElectrical Trade Certificate (Red Seal would be an added advantage)Wireman’s licence will be advantageousExperience in the building or housing maintenance field would be advantageous3-5 years technical experience as an Artisan in a recognized relevant tradeContractor management will be advantageousAdvanced computer literacy is essentialKnowledge and experience of SAP would be advantageousCode 08 Drivers LicenseSuccessfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mineYour consideration for employment is subject to your SAPS Criminal Record verification and qualifications verification

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
