About the role The maintenance co-op/intern is responsible for supporting the repairing, adjusting, and/or maintaining industrial production and processing machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. This position may perform basic troubleshooting and repairs with direction and oversight. Responsibilities Provide assistance for maintenance and automation departmental activities, focusing on preventative maintenance and basic machine maintenance. Contribute on plant improvement project teams as a team member and fulfill responsibilities as delegated by maintenance manager. Participate in safety programs and ensure that all activities comply with safety regulations and company requirements. Qualifications Basic training in maintenance/repair of mechanical equipment and machinery, required Basic training in industrial electrical repair and maintenance, required Efficiently manages time and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and goals. Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders Ability to build strong relationships with others, fostering a supportive and engaged workplace. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Education & Experience Must be a student in a Cooperative Education Training program working towards a certification in the Electro-Mechanical field or accredited engineering or science program working towards a degree in Automation, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar field.
