Collins Aerospace has an opportunity for a **Machinist II** position, this position will be working in **on site capacity at the Opa Locka, FL facility.**
**Work Shift** : **Second Shift ( 5 days x 8 hours, Monday - Friday 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm)**
**What You Will Do:**
+ Set up and run conventional (manual) lathe and mill machines to produce parts with exacting requirements.
+ Select and setup cutting tools, as needed gage tool lengths.
+ Detect machining abnormalities and/or malfunctions based on tooling wear and damage.
+ Review machining programs and data package for completeness as required.
+ Perform quality inspection of parts using standard measuring instruments.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
+ Support Continuous Improvement efforts and maintain a safe, clean work area.
+ Complete other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of machine shop experience
+ Manufacturing environment Experience.
+ Experience in precision measuring instruments, i.e. micrometers, calipers, 6" scales, etc.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, job specifications, job orders, planning documents, and equipment manuals.
+ Able to work autonomously and trouble shoot machining issues.

**Onsite:** Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
The salary range for this role is 46,146 USD - 62,433 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
