The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing job assignments on manual machines including set up, tool selection of conventional lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses and various other equipment. The Machine Operator will be responsible to produce quality products. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and will operate daily out of the Brookshire, TX facility. This is a 1st shift position. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa. **Your main responsibilities:** + Producing quality parts on conventional machines such as grinder, manual lathe, drill presses, turret lathe or vertical turret lathe to perform operations within the capability of the machine. + Study and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements. + Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jog bores, grinders and shapers. + Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. + Observe machine operator to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required. + Must be able to perform setup for parts to be machined. + Responsible for deburring and inspection of parts before moving parts to the next stage. + Perform all duties in a way that meets all applicable laws, regulations and EHS requirements. + Comply with the CGB Environmental, Health, and Safety Management system requirements. **Your background:** **We imagine that you have:** + A high school diploma, trade school, GED, or technical education is preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of degree. + A minimum of 2+ years of prior machining experience. + A minimum of 2+ years in the use of measuring tools. + Prior experience with manual and CNC machining is highly preferred. + Proficiency in the use and application of precision measuring instruments. + Ability to run multiple machines at once. + Proficient tooling knowledge; will select and use metal cutting tooling in all applications. **What’s in it for you?** Whether it’s developing leadership skills or advancing your expertise even further, we’ll support you with continuous learning and development opportunities, to help discuss and steer your long-term Grundfos career path.
