Job Requirements:
Employees load material into machine, or roll feeders, put die into machine, check accuracy of position, operate machine in manual or automatic mode, monitoring accuracy, removing product and scrap from machine. All employees in this grade are required to know how to run all machines in the grade. All employees in this grade are trained to operate the forklift. Hoists, Lift Carts, Scissor Lifts, etc are available in some areas and employees are expected to use them.
Responsibilities: Qualifications/ Experience:
Reads order for specifications, material and tolerances. Selects proper die and transports it to the machine, using safety equipment when needed. Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tool attachments, die, and accessories on machine. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed and feed. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Adjusts machine controls or controls media as required. Verifies conformance of finished product to specifications, using a micrometer or other gauges. Seeks assistance from experienced team members for assistance in any part of the production process. Produces accurate product in order to support the companies’ quality requirements. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Completes all necessary paperwork and/or reports Consistently meets acceptable production levels. Complete preventive maintenance as required Participates in team activities such as Quality, Safety, Training and Attendance Wears appropriate personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves when appropriate, etc. Takes tests related to job performance, which could include such tests as vision tests and strength testing or related to health, such as hearing tests. Participates in annual training required by departments such as safety and personnel. Learn to operate all machines in the classification in order to enhance work completion. Learn to operate the forklift safely.
Qualifications/ Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Manufacturing experience a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills. Highly motivated. Strong time management and priorities management skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer literate with knowledge of Excel. Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers.
