MACHINE (SAW) OPERATOR 

Job Description

 

FLSA Status:   Full Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) 

     Location:   Sedalia, MO  

 

Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for running the Saw.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Saw operators in this position setup, operate and adjust various types of power saws to cut parts and material to specified lengths and dimensions.Experienced operating the Horizontal Manual/Automated Feed and Clamp Saw.Must be able to read measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.Operate Overhead cranes and forklifts.Push pull and lift up to 50 lbs+.Basic hand tools usage knowledge.Basic computer skills.Abide by all safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

Excellent attendance.Minimum of 2 years of experience operating metal fabrication equipment. Understanding and reading of blueprints a must. Possess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to work well with team members.Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continual improvement.

 Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Two years of experience in a manufacturingPrevious work experience in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing vision protection, steel-toed shoes/boots and other appropriate protective clothing.

Working Conditions:

Ability to work around common office equipment, supplies and environments. Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Control Precision - The ability to adjust the controls of a machine quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.Far Vision - The ability to see details at a distance.Multilimbed Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.Depth Perception - The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).Response Orientation - The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures). It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part.Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.Reaction Time - The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.Rate Control - The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.Spatial Orientation - The ability to know your location in relation to the environment or to know where other objects are in relation to you.Smoking will not be permitted inside transport truck or the truck that is being transferred.
