Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Batch Making Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for adding raw materials in the specified order, performing basic math for weighing and measuring materials, and ensuring the accuracy and yield of completed batches. You will coordinate sample testing with QC and make necessary adjustments as instructed.
ResponsibilitiesPractice and maintain expected housekeeping standards in the work area.Move to tasks such as fill off and tank washing when needed once trained.Operate machine controls to achieve specified flow and temperature limits.Comprehend and demonstrate competency in Lock out/Tag out/Try out processes.Lift metal objects up to 40 pounds up to 5 feet off the floor.Set up a pump train to transfer materials from one vessel to another.Comprehend and demonstrate competency in setting up and breaking down the mill, including selection of media and screens.Set up the machine for internal pin disruption usage.Break down and clean the mill, inspect for wear, and use wear indicator tools.Understand the development of color and demonstrate the use of a grind check block or other fineness check devices.Use hand tools and light power equipment to perform preventative maintenance on various machines in the production area.Essential Skills2 years of experience operating a stand-up forklift.2 years of experience in batch mixing/making.2 years of machine operating experience.Ability to perform basic math.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust be clean-shaven to properly wear respiratory masks.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position operates in a production environment with paint. We have openings for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. The 1st shift runs Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm. The 2nd shift runs Monday to Friday from 2pm to 10:30pm. The 3rd shift runs Sunday to Thursday from 10pm to 6:30am. Compensation varies by shift, with differential pay for evening and night shifts.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position based out of Northwest Houston, Texas.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
