Job Description

The Finishing Line Operator/Packer plays a crucial role in our production process by ensuring the accurate and efficient slitting, packaging, and labeling of finished rolls according to customer specifications and Avery Dennison standards. This involves operating specialized equipment, managing packaging materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Production:

Operate slitting and packaging equipment to process customer orders.Interpret and follow product specifications and work orders.Perform machine set-up, changeovers, and adjustments as needed.Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.Inspect finished products for quality defects and ensure proper labeling.Package finished goods according to customer requirements and Avery Dennison procedures, including the use of the Exact program.Cut cores, and band rolls, and prepare them for shipment.

Materials Management:

Order and verify packaging materials to ensure adequate supplies.Maintain accurate inventory of packaging materials and finished goods.Efficiently utilize materials to minimize waste.

Documentation and Reporting:

Accurately record production data, including downtime and output.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).Maintain proper documentation for quality control and traceability.

Workplace Safety and Housekeeping:

Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials under Environmental Control Instructions.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Ability to operate machinery and use hand tools.Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness.Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical ability to lift, stand, and move around for extended periods.
