Project and Design Engineer  
 

Introduction

 

We are seeking a Project and Design Engineer to join our Project team. This position is responsible for the complete project management of vibrating equipment, including final acceptance. This position supports the regional development of Africa in engineering and is connected to the global Screening Business Line and the associated globally placed engineering teams. It includes the technical support of the sales team by providing the necessary drawings, data sheets and details for the preparation of customer-specific quotations. This position is responsible for supporting the team to accurately create and maintain technical data related to customer orders and field equipment, including calculations, drawings, BOMs, technical specifications and equipment approvals, and relevant safety records (e.g. CE and engineering safety). It is reporting to and will be guided by the Director Technical Sales Support. Furthermore, the support of the local production facilities is one of the tasks to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Within the product group, the design engineer leads the Africa regional specific engineering related requests to machines in the field, which includes troubleshooting and warranty support, as well as customer support for equipment optimization. The design engineer works on tasks related to the vibrating equipment and accessories within the design team for the aggregates and mining sectors. The integration into a full system on site is part of the role. In this role, he works with the supply and sales team to establish the best processes and ensure these processes are aligned with other teams around the world. 

 

This position is based in Johannesburg - South Africa.

You will work very closely with Regional Engineering Teams within the screening business line to ensure that work is prioritized to achieve regional objectives and maximize customer impact in line with screening BL strategies but fits also for global requirements. You will become a part of a growing, successful, and international company with short decision-making paths and flat hierarchies. What you’ll do

 

Develop Africa region specific products using SBL’s global processes and tools  Assist in the accurate creation and maintenance of technical data associated with customer orders and field equipment, including calculations, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), technical specifications, equipment approvals, and safety records (such as CE and engineering safety)  Support engineering-related requests for machines in the field within the product group, including troubleshooting, warranty support, customer visits, and equipment optimization  Ensure comprehensive documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle  Participate in the integration of vibrating equipment and accessories into full systems on-site 
 

Who you are
 

 Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar training  Professional experience in engineering design, preferably in project management.  Proficient in reading and speaking English at a professional level  Familiarity with business tool Inventor is a plus
