The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists in collecting patient information, planning, and implementing patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. LPN integrates education, technical competence and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers. This role exercises sound judgment and developed clinical skills to implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner and supports care focused on medical intervention within the patient's healing environment, creating relationships with patients, their caregivers, and support system. The position is accountable for all delegated patient care based on established standards of nursing practice and policies and procedures. The LPN only performs those procedures and processes that are within the scope of practice for an LPN.

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Education: Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.

Preferred Education: Not applicable

Preferred Experience: One (1) or more years recent patient care related experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Applicant must be licensed to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Maintains current BLS certification and ACLS required within 120 days of hire.
