General Summary
Typically has large facility, regional or network-wide responsibility. Responsible for all physical distribution activities typically including order processing, inventory control, warehousing, transportation, fleet operations, and logistics planning. Provides leadership role with HQ peers, local sales force and customers in solving issues & developing programs.
The position requires a hands-on leadership style and strong floor presence. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, be driven by initiative rather than crisis, and be eager to identify, recommend and complete projects.
Key Accountabilities
Ensures all reports are developed to fulfill expectations of their duties. Set objectives for cross-training employees. Leads safety program. Drives continuous improvement. Ensures key reports have a successor.Directs inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing. Ensures operational compliance with standards, policies and procedures. Fosters strategies, goals and plans to better serve customers. Works with site & functional leadership on TQM plans.Directs the development of standards, metrics, processes and practices, in alignment with company objectives. Develops/implements strategies, goals and plans to focus and enable area to better serve customers.Establishes and maintains clear communication with contacts across business; fosters close relationships with key vendors/suppliers. Avoids and resolves service and quality issues relating to logistics. Collaborates on network design/ KPI initiatives.Analyzes and reports data to identify opportunities to achieve established objectives. Advises management on logistics innovations that will improve performance and make logistics a competitive advantage. Identifies and manages redesign, capital projects and vendor changes to improve safety, cost, service, quality, performance and/or compliance.Negotiates and manages vendor contracts and performance consistent with Ecolab standards, which may include inventory control, warehousing, transportation, fleet operations, logistics planning, inventory planning, order processing.Meets or exceed measured standards, i.e. improves cost and service performance through Logistics activities that include aspects of inventory record accuracy/forecasting/deployment, service levels, warehousing, warehouse space, transportation, logistics planning, order processing, delivery execution and exception management.Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience of managing 3rd Party Logistics Providers, including a keen understanding of cost models utilized.Experience in a related industry (food/ beverage, health and hygiene products, pharmaceuticals, etc.) and managing a chemical supply chain.Experience in other related functional areas, including Distribution, Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Compliance, Regulatory and HR.Experience in 6 Sigma, Lean, or TPMAcquisition integration experienceStrong computer literacy and demonstrated use of technology to improve logistics performanceDemonstrated leadership and communication skillsTactical and strategic thinking skillsEducation Qualifications
