Logistics Manager, First Mile Flatbed Transportation
**Position Purpose:** Develops, implements, and monitors all logistics management activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of products. **Key Responsibilities:** + Responsible for on time performance metrics in support of a complex transportation network, as assigned for specific origins at reasonable cost + Manages carrier and vendor relationships for book of business. Reviews carrier and vendor metrics and KPIs to ensure on time metrics and performance goals are met + Identify performance risks across with carriers and drive escalation where required + Proactively identifies opportunities to drive process improvement and vendor/carrier relationships + Sets operational expectations with internal and external stakeholders. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers or other key stakeholders. + Collaborates with cross-functional teams across the organization (Merchandising, Channel Management, Inventory Planning & Replenishment) in support of business goals and objectives + Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments of direct reports + Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness. **Direct Manager/Direct Reports:** + Reports to Sr. Manager, Director Sr. Director or VP + Typically requires interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations. + Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches. + Typically considers new courses of action within broad policies and medium-term goals when solving problems. + Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it. **Travel Requirements:** + Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. **Physical Requirements:** + Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds). **Working Conditions:** + Located in a comfortable indoor area.
