Logistics Management Specialist
Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Responsibilities This position is in the Posture Planning Division, Futures Integrations and Posture Directorate (FIPD). Provides long-range view of future global posture capabilities driven by global near-peer competition, changing energy landscape, and iterative geopolitical environmental scans. Resolves long-range planning shortfalls, limitations, and other conditions that impact DLA Energy’s ability to perform its wartime logistics support mission. Supports the strategic posture planning interface between DLA CONUS and OCONUS, Military Services, CCMDs and the designated organization/area of responsibility. Plans for and coordinates DLA Energy participation in Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commander, and Military Service exercises focused three years and beyond. Collaborates routinely with senior military and civilian planning specialists from across the DoD and Whole of Government to ensure DLA Energy capabilities are consistent with DoD and Military Service strategic posture planning requirements. Makes expert recommendations, decisions, and commitments as they relate to strategic posture plans. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Conducting logistics supportability analysis to identify the gaps and risks of Combatant Command (CCMD) fuel requirements. Using advanced management systems, organizational principles, practices, and programs to determine, execute, and evaluate logistical programs and exercises. Utilizing global DoD and Military Service energy logistics doctrine, policies, practices, and procedures for wholesale and retail bulk fuels supply chain management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
