This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Applicants may be selected for any of the five listed locations. Responsibilities Serve as US Army Aviation and Missile Command Senior Logistician for the region assigned. Serve as the logistic assistance authority and consultant on all aspects of logistic assistance mission activities within the region of assignment. Maintain worldwide cognizance of all significant supply and maintenance actions that could impact the readiness of supported systems and commands. Conduct overall technical appraisal of the region-wide program through analysis of reports and data. Serve as liaison to resolve maintenance, supply and technical problems impacting the readiness of weapon systems. Conduct meetings for the purpose of working out agreements with respect to field support procedures. Serve as team leader for Logistic Assistance Division's in-house training efforts relating to operations, equipment/weapon systems and logistic support systems. Perform Contracting Officer Representative duties for support command agency contracts of new equipment fielded to the war fighter. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) expertise in aviation weapon systems logistics and maintenance operations; 2) exercising a broad range of logistics relationships; 3) experience in logistics operations or management programs to include resolving weapon systems interface, hardware and software problems; AND 4) providing coordination for continuous evaluation of maintenance operations, supply functions, and needs affecting status of aviation weapon systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12) or equivalent pay band. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone---no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Salaries for the five listed locations are as follows: Ft. Bliss, TX - $88,621 to $115,213; Ft. Liberty NC - $92,543 to $120,311; Ft. Campbell, KY - $88,621 to $115,213; Ft. Johnson, LA - $88,621 to $115,213; Camp Humphreys, South Korea - Basic salary/no locality - $75,706 to $98, 422.
