Summary This position is with the Assistant Deputy Administrator for the Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Training and Resources (OTR), Resources Division (RD), Logistics and Property Management Branch (LPMB) in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A successful candidate will provide logistical support for planning and execution for on and off-site operations. Responsibilities As a Logistics Management Specialist, you will: Responsible for and contributes to the formulation of a wide range of logistical plans which support mobile and on-site operations and specialized training. Attends site-surveys and planning meetings related to Operational Readiness Training (ORT), Special Response Force (SRF) Training, Designated Marksman (DM), and other significant off-site training events. Ensures that event execution is in accordance with approved planning documents. Tracks requests for resources, including firearms, munitions and pyrotechnics, vehicles, Engagement Simulation Systems (ESS) devices and/or automated target systems, and general supplies and equipment. Coordinates with contractor support staff to ensure availability of requested personnel resources to support training. Develops and implements economical and efficient plans to ensure the accountability and safeguards of all training materials and equipment. Maintains on-going operational awareness of operations. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience with logistics processes and procedures, such as logistical and emergency mobilization systems, property, supplies, budgets, maintenance, transportation, equipment design and development to plan, coordinate and evaluate the actions needed to support training and mission requirements for an organizational program. To meet the basic qualifications requirements at the NQ-03 level (GS-13/14), select the option that best describes your experience. A. I have one full year of specialized experience equivalent in responsibility and scope to the NQ-02 pay band or GS-12 level as described in the vacancy announcement under specialized experience requirements. B. I do not meet the specialized experience as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples of Specialized Experience: - Experience with logistics processes and procedures, such as logistical and emergency mobilization systems, property, supplies, budgets, maintenance, transportation, equipment design and development to plan, coordinate and evaluate the actions needed to support training and mission requirements for an organizational program. - Experience interpreting and providing guidance on regulations and laws concerning the management of high-risk personal property programs. - Experience interpreting and providing guidance on mobility management policies and procedures relating to a Transportation Security System, to provide technical expertise on logistical support requirements during actual emergencies and simulated emergency exercises. - Demonstrated performance in contract administration to perform task monitoring and oversight over various logistics support contracts. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
