The Regional Logistics Director is end-to-end responsible for Operational Execution and Performance across all modes (Marine, Air, Road, Warehousing,..) within the assigned region while closely working with third party logistics service providers to ensure safety, service and cost goals are met. The role has a high level of cross functional focus with colleagues within the Integrated Supply Chain including in other world area’s, Planning, Site Logistics, Logistics Procurement, Businesses, Trade Compliance, and others.Roles and Responsibilities:• Accountable for all business unit logistics operations across all modes of transport and regional warehouse operations incl. alignment with site logistics. • Supports the creation of a Logistics Strategy and leads the implementation across the businesses within the region with focus on delivering best in class service, cost-to-serve and while ensuring HSEQ compliance across a highly regulated Logistics Network. • Defines, owns, maintains, and reports the area key performance indicators (KPIs) and drives a continuous improvement culture while ensuring that proper controls are in place to enable daily executional success.• Works with area/regional logistics procurement to ensure logistics service providers are contracted for required capacity, service and the appropriate price while operating in a safe, secure, and sustainable.• Collaborates closely with business partners to understand required capacity including growth plans, supply chain design changes, etc. to ensure capacity is in place to meet business/needs. • Ensures most effective logistics solutions are in place to meet business/customer expectations. • Creates visibility & accountability on all projects; facilitate the development of line-of-sight metrics to link logistics activities to BU’s strategic initiatives.• Utilizes specific knowledge of the global logistics market, trends, and capabilities to identify opportunities for cost reductions and savings opportunities.• Leads 3PL management and provides strategic leadership and oversight for 3PLs through periodic business reviews and ensures supplier SLA’s and scorecards are delivered. • Accountable for inventory accuracy, including responsibility for the execution of cycle counts and physical inventory.• Budgetary ownership (Annual Operating Plan) for a Logistics Spend within the region, incl. variable logistics cost and organization operating costs. Develops Logistics Budget and supports Financial reporting obligations. • Drives yearly global logistics cost productivity including strategic development of project pipeline and execution of projects ensuring cost savings are realized. • Responsible for talent management in compliance with HR processes. Leads and develops direct reports and wider organization – establishes annual goals, conducts annual performance reviews, participates in annual talent planning process, drives succession planning and talent retention, and provides regular coaching and feedback. Attracts, recruits, and develops logistics talent with an eye for Inclusion and Diversity. • Liable for successful logistics implementation of mergers/acquisitions & separation activities for divestitures.Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Engineering, Logistics or Supply chain management• +15 years' experience in in transportation, logistics or supply chain management for best-in-class manufacturing organization / shipper. • +10 years’ experience at management level• Experience in Logistics or relevant functions in Integrated Supply Chain• Experience in direct people management in a matrix environment• Multi-country or regional experience managing diverse stakeholders• Knowledge in finance• Experience in Food, Pharma, Chemicals industries• Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools and automated systems• Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization• Fluent business English communication skills• Excellent Leadership skills• Highly collaborative and team player• Excellent analytical skills• Ability to set, define and deliver strategic vision.• Ability to lead change and deliver results• Ability to operate in a fast paced and global complex, multi-cultural environmentTraining / Certifications• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification• APICS or ASCM or equivalent certification• SAP multiple trainings on functional areas of expertise
