Altaquip, founded in 1997, has become one of the largest providers of commercial and consumer equipment service in the U.S. We offer services on a number of product categories, such small engine repair and outdoor power and lawn maintenance. Altaquip services over 100 manufacturer’s brands including Craftsman, Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Caterpillar, Husqvarna, Ariens, Generac, EGO, Greenworks and MTD, to name a few.

The Logistics and Safety Manager will be responsible for complete oversight of the profitability and productivity of the Altaquip fleet. Daily tasks include monitoring the daily operations, maintaining, and tracking all trucks within the fleet, knowledge of daily routes. This role will also oversee the safety program in accordance with applicable federal, state and location regulations. Tracking, monitoring and evaluation and improvement surrounding safety and compliance matters, working with management around disciplinary action, inspections and reporting requirements are being met in areas of DOT incidents, and navigation of such matters in connection with DOT requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

Assist in all aspects of logistics operations as needed including driver communication, monitoring dispatching services and serving as a last line of defense for fulfilling customer services.Creating a culture of high-level communication between Logistics/Safety and Service Centers and drivers regarding challenges, updates, and safety in a professional and timely manner.Maintain constant inventory of truck fleet including trucks out of service, number of trucks in the fleet currently being used on a day-to-day basis, and those not being utilized.Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve written safety and compliance protocols for DOT including conducting of personnel training and guidance in all areas of safety.Timely processing and follow up of Motor Vehicle and Workers Comp claims.Investigate and bring to conclusions all safety-related incidents (Workers Comp and Moter vehicle)  including working with applicable authorities, insurance companies, The Leadership Team, Area Managers, HR, and location managers regarding disciplinary steps.Through electronic and other means, ensure compliance with Electronic Driver Log requirements and driver inspection reports processes for both drivers and Service Center Managers. Establish company driver truck safe operating procedures and ensure daily monitoring or electronic truck safety tools (I.e., speeding, hard braking, hard turns, etc.) Based on findings, work with supervisors (and HR as needed) to evaluate driver performance in these areas and ensure proper corrective action/discipline is taken. Routinely audit DVIR compliance.Maintain and execute the online driver training program, conduct weekly new hire training calls, and participate in driver ride along.Maintain all reporting and inspection requirements with DOT.Manager regulatory required company drug testing procedures in coordination with HR and applicable supervisorsOther duties as assigned

Salary range of $70,000.00 - $80,000.00, DOE.
