Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Logistics Administrator: II (Intermediate) in Oakdale, Minnesota. The role involves overseeing truck transportation of materials and products, ensuring efficiency from origin to destination. You will be expected to identify and select the most cost-effective truck transportation solutions. This hybrid role will also require you to provide stakeholders with accurate freight pricing, improve organizational understanding of specific shipping requirements, and manage third-party truck carrier relationships. Responsibilities: • Oversee the accurate processing of customer credit applications. • Maintain and update customer credit records with high precision. • Handle customer inquiries and resolve them in a timely manner. • Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action when required. • Analyze current transportation operations practices to identify areas for process and cost improvement. • Negotiate rates with carriers, aiming to maximize load pairing, backhauls, and value creation across product lines. • Support enterprise transportation carrier management strategy through rate negotiations, relationship management, capacity management, and overall spend management. • Serve as subject matter expert on transportation markets and rates, ensuring that all third-party transportation relationships are profitable. • Monitor carrier performance/KPIs and take corrective action to reverse negative trends and maintain required service levels. • Update internal documents/spreadsheets, databases, and systems for contracts, freight rates, volume estimates, and customer information. • Communicate transportation market trends to commercial sales and purchasing teams. • Work closely with internal commercial, operations management, finance, and external customers to meet the changing demands of the business. Requirements • Demonstrable experience in Customer Service • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal • Proven Sales abilities • Knowledge of Operations within a logistics setting • Experience in Payment Processing • Familiarity with Materials Handling processes • Proficiency in Database management • Understanding of Contracts within a logistics context • Supervising experience, capable of leading a team • Knowledge of the 'About Time' software • Finance skills, particularly within a logistics setting • Experience with Pricing strategies and negotiations • Comprehensive understanding of Logistics operations • Ability to manage relationships with Vendors • Proficiency in using Spreadsheets • Strong Negotiation skills • Networking abilities within the logistics and supply chain industry • Familiarity with industry Practices • Excellent Communication Skills with various Stakeholders • Ability to build relationships with Partners • Experience in Shipping procedures • Strong Collaboration skills, particularly within a team setting • Proficiency in KPI Reporting • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Management.
