Localization Technical Program Manager / LLMOps
**About the Role** This role requires a highly skilled professional in localization operations, with a strong technical background in machine translation (MT), large language models (LLM), workflow automation, and the integration of vendor and client technologies within content management systems (CMS) and translation management systems (TMS). The ideal candidate brings over three years of hands-on experience in technical operations, having led developers in creating tools based on the specific scopes and requirements of localization teams as well as other internal and external stakeholders. A self-motivated and collaborative problem-solver, this individual excels at developing innovative solutions through both technology and process improvements to address broader organizational needs. **What the Candidate Will Do:** - Program Development and Execution: Design and implement comprehensive MT and LLM programs that serve both Uber's internal operations and our external clients, ensuring these programs support our global communication and localization strategies effectively. - Integration and Technical Liaison: Build seamless integration points between Uber’s internal services and tools, connecting them to our MT/LLM pipeline. Act as a technical liaison for customers and external clients, gathering requirements and discussing potential integration points to optimize our MT/LLM pipeline’s efficiency and utility. - Best Practices and Guidelines: Establish and define MT-only and MT + LLM best practices for all clients, whether new or existing, to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in our localization efforts. - Model Selection and Evaluation: Work closely with Localization Operations (LocOps) and ML/LLM/AI engineers to select, evaluate, analyze, train, and deploy the most effective MT and LLM models. Your goal will be to enhance both internal and external localization processes. **Basic Qualifications:** - Hands-on Python development skills. - Understanding of localization, internationalization, and end-to-end operations. - Experience in building, training, and fine-tuning MT and LLM models. - Knowledge of GenAI and its integration into localization tech stacks. **Preferred Qualifications:** - A Computer Science degree or equivalent. - Experience working in the high-tech industry with at least 10,000 employees, whether from a client or vendor perspective. - Led several programs spanning two or more quarters, involving 2+ cross-team collaborations. - Understanding of NLP and proficiency in writing Python scripts using PyTorch and other Python ML libraries. For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$112,000 per year - CAD$124,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
