Lead Business Area Manager
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to implement the service strategy and drive service growth at the respective unit level. Each day, you will lead the Service organization and be responsible for the P&L to achieve performance targets and to optimize the utilization of Service resources. You will also showcase your expertise by running the day-to-day service business to ensure profitable growth and improvement of service productivity.The work model for the role is Hybrid.This role is contributing to the Motion Business in Longmeadow.You will be mainly accountable for:- Creates and drives implementation of service strategy as a member of the management team.- Ensures that strategic plans are implemented consistently in the service organization through collaboration with other businesses.- Executes service and sales channel strategy within their own area of responsibility.- Implements productized service offerings and materials for marketing purposes and invests in service sales to increase market penetration.- Drives consistent development of processes and practices based on customer feedback (Net Promoter Score - NPS).- Ensures customer focus, understanding of sense of urgency and care in their own area of responsibility.- Drives, implements, reports, and monitors performance targets as part of the respective unit P&L (financial, productivity, investments, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, etc.).- Runs the day-to-day service business to ensure profitable growth and improvement of service productivity.- Implements agreed delivery and performance standards to ensure consistency in quality and customer satisfaction.- Invests in improving the quality of existing service products and in developing new service products to expand the portfolio in line with global direction.- Drives continuous improvement culture and the implementation of improvements to achieve service excellence and increase profitability in their own area of responsibility.- Define, support, and implement the optimum Go-To-Market strategy in full coordination with other divisions and business and in alignment with Motion Manager for the best interest of ABB.- Drive, lead, and implement customer-led collaboration models to drive growth, serve the customers the way they wish to be served and maximize efficiency on the way we operate in alignment and collaboration with the right stakeholders in the business.- Define and implement our capability development and capacity building blueprints in alignment with local stakeholders to ensure the unit is “ future ready”- Unlock the full potential of the business organization in alignment and collaboration with the right stakeholders in the unit.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering Minimum 10 years experience with proven track record in leadership positions with Profit & Loss responsibility Strategic Planning & Execution to drive business growth Strong background in Service business and ability to lead Service operations, inclusive leadership skills Experience in performance management, for sizable and diverse teams and growth mindset and ability to lead such teams in challenging conditions Experience in multinational organizations and multi-cultural business environment, background in automation and motion business, excellent market knowledge, and sharp business development Collaborative an inclusive leadership style in thinking and acting. Growth mind-set and strategic thinking. Proven track record of solid and excellent market knowledge. People Management Skills – ability to develop people to the best of their ability. Fluency in English language is mandatory Preference will be given to employment equity candidates
