Country Trade Compliance Officer (CTCO)
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role you will ensure the local business complies with local and international trade regulations by effectively embedding compliance controls in transactional activities, creating awareness of regulatory requirements and implementing the ABB Global Trade Program through effective training and support. You will oversee transactional trade compliance activity, such as import customs activities, customs & export control classification, sanctioned party list screening, block transactions release, business direct and indirect sales opportunities risk assessment, import & export transactions audit.You will be mainly be accountable for:• Creating and maintaining written procedures and guidelines for the Local business import, export, customs and sanctions compliance.• Providing oversight, policy advisory and practical guidance to the local business regarding customs compliance, export control and business specific operational requirements. • Ensuring local business customs records are maintained and archived correctly in line with ABB recordkeeping policies and national requirements.• Overseeing the business import team and provide guidance on customs related queries. • Overseeing the implementation of ABB Global trade policies and guideline in the local business.• Collaborating with the required business departments/ functions and the business leadership to ensure that the local business trade activities comply with ABB trade policies and guidelines.• Supporting the Country Trade Compliance Officer (CTCO) with Local business Trade Review, audits and provides reporting as required on the business customs and export controls activities.• Escalating areas of concern to CTCO and notify CTCO of any suspected export violations and sensitive compliance matters. • Ensuring all imported and exported products, software and technologies are properly classified with respect to national and international regulations.• Supporting business trade awareness through training and drive continuous development of trade processes and system in the local business.
Qualifications for the roleKnowledge of local, national and international customs, export controls and sanctions regulations. Strong business mind set with willingness to explore and take ownership of initiatives to drive effective compliance in the business. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex regulations. Strong problem-solving abilities to address compliance issues and trade related enquiries. Attention to details and effective communication skills to deliver training and collaborate with various departments.
