POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Electrician is one who installs, maintains, operates, or repairs electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for handling Rose Acre electrical operations and problems.Responsible for researching new electrical equipment for all Rose Acre locations as needed – light overnight travel may be involved.Responsible for misc. tasks bestowed upon by the immediate supervisor.Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and physically be able handle strenuous situations that may require standing for long periods of time, and to climb ladders and scaffolds.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Must be able to come to work in an emergency after hours.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

High school diploma is required - some college or technical training/experience in electrical training is desired.Some knowledge of the methods used to run a poultry production facility - understanding the basics involved in setting up correct electrical wiring/setting up the electrical plan in the most efficient manner possible.Capable of performing misc. computer programs – such as MS Word and MS Excel –in addition to drafting/mapping software programs that allow the user to visually create a map of their planCompetent and professional communication skills (i.e. written and verbal.)Ability to handle multiple tasks at once – the ability to deal with stressful situations.Ability to treat co-workers with respect and courtesy.Ability to deal with vendors professionally.Possess good decision making skills.Possess a strong sense of ethics regarding business and professional matters.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
