Group/Division

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Role

LKS is looking for an experienced applications or service engineer to join its team of technical trainers to support OMD products.

Responsibilities

The application instructor will be responsible to engage in various training and development activities with senior instructors, divisional engineers, application engineers, customer representatives and marketing team members.

The instructor is expected to master the technical know-how of the assigned tools, develop training material, build training plans, validate applications and operational documentation, and deliver well-managed training to field service engineers, customers, and application engineers at KLA training centers as well as at the customer fabs.

Detailed responsibilities include:

Develop and deliver application training for OMD products (Archer, ATL, LCM and AP series products).Use the combination of product technical skills and training skills together to deliver high-quality application training to KLA field service engineers, technical support engineers, install engineers, divisional/field apps engineer and external customers.Maintain a high level of Apps knowledge and stay up to date on new product changes and field issue by working closely with Division, PSO and also supporting field escalation when necessary.Independently conduct and lead the review meetings and discussions with subject matter experts to define milestones, deliverables, and training plans.Lead the assigned training projects; conduct reviews with stakeholders; provide regular updates to the stakeholders and functional groups; assess risks and actions; assesses efforts, time and resource requirements; maintains action trackers and project documentation.Review division application documentation, BKM, and specifications. Assess the need to update documentation. Provide corrective feedback and drive implementation of the changes in the documentation quickly.Capture technical information into training documents. Develop well-organized training content and videos most appropriate to the target audience and create appropriate certification plans.Learn and use new software and tools to develop high-quality videos, remote training, web-based modules, augment reality models and simulations to deliver highly engaging learning experiences.Support service instructors in maintaining and qualifying the assigned tools or equipment in the best possible conditions all the time. Performs regular health checks and escalate tool issues for faster resolution.Follow and apply standard training design and development best practices, formats and templates.Learn and support first level technical hardware training which include topic such as system theory of operation, sub-system dependencies, software operation, UI familiarization, calibration/diagnostics, and System test/verification.

Travel/Shifts

This job may require > 40% travel to other KLA sites and customer fabs.This job may involve significant travel to and work in other training centers outside KoreaThis job also may require delivering training classes in afternoon/evening shifts when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s level degree in engineering is required for this job.Minimum 5-10 years of in-depth technical experience in apps, service, or both on KLA metrology equipment.Preferred experience in application or service of OMD products on one or more platforms like Archer, ATL, LCM or AP. An equivalent experience in FAST products can be considered.Candidate offering combination of apps and service experience will be given preference. Ability to seamlessly support both apps and service training will be a plus.Candidate must demonstrate a track record of supporting apps or service activities to support evaluation, qualification, acceptance, recipe creation/optimization on KLA tools at customer sites.Prior experience in conducting or supporting Application training, formally or informally, or mentoring junior engineers on KLA or other semiconductor tools will be a plus.

Demonstrated strong documentation skills and ability to capture the technical knowledge and discussions on the paper to develop systematic training material.Ability to decipher a range of technical sources like engineering documentation, procedures and specifications to develop highly organized training material. Ability to track tasks, actions and provide regular updates.Ability to make decisions independently with minimal or no support from direct or indirect managers. Shown independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.Demonstrated working successfully with subject matter experts from various functional groups and ability to develop relationships and communication across cultures and geographies.Demonstrated record of working efficiently and effectively in a matrix environment with multiple direct and indirect managers. Proven ability to drive alignment among multiple stakeholders with conflicting requirements.Ability to handle complex problems demanding higher-order critical thinking skills including analysis and evaluation of alternatives, solutions and approaches.Highly detailed oriented as well as the ability to assess the big picture.Demonstrate a very high level of motivation and willingness to take initiatives of his own in his previous roles.Strong written and verbal English language skills and ability to communicate comfortably with international audience.
