RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Manage live operations by establishing procedures and adjusting as necessary to meet production schedules, increase efficiencies and to meet or exceed budgetary objectivesOversee breed evaluations and recommendations, grower contract maintenance, departmental costs and performance and capital prioritization for assigned locationsIncrease profit margins through feed programs, housing management, flock analysis, and performance and efficiency for all live departmentsProvide feedback and input surrounding overall effectiveness of live operations programs; communicate areas for improvement to increase efficiencies and profit margins to appropriate leadershipPartner with Poultry Boards, Poultry Labs, Universities and Suppliers to improve industry practices and identify research opportunities aimed to enhance industry and company knowledgeProvide expertise as a member of cross-functional project teams in Yield, Bird Size, Bird Weight, and Bird Weight ProjectionsMentor, coach and train/ cross-train employees encouraging career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvementAdminister performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions on a fair and consistent basisFollow and promote all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero accident culturePerform additional relevant duties as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a team of salaried employees over multiple shiftsThis role is a Leader of Leaders role with required competencies: Strategic Agility, Business Acumen, Building Effective Teams, Customer Focus and Command SkillsEDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors’ degree in Poultry or Agricultural Science or other related discipline from an accredited institutionCombination of experience and education may be substituted for degreeEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in live poultry operationsDemonstrated minimum three (3) years leadership experience including Top 25 behaviors, conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively, knowledge of timekeeping requirements and policy adherenceStrong customer focus with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to fluently communicate effectively both up and down the chain of command and with external customers in a timely and professional mannerMust have Proficient computer and math skillsSelf-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detailMust possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgencyWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
