General Description The successful candidate will perform as a systems administrator for the Air Force's Automated Funds Management System (AFMS) providing development, operations, and sustainment support, and assisting with the planning and execution of the migration of the production AFMS application to the AWS cloud.  This requires the candidate to assist with the configuration and daily operation of various Linux servers, performing operating system and security patches, and supporting software and hardware updates that host various production, development, and test environments for the AFMS system. In addition, the successful candidate will assist with the development and execution of a plan to migrate the AFMS production application to the AWS cloud. This includes application upgrades in preparation for migration, updating the system to take advantage various system monitoring and system automation tools and processes, supporting the actual migration of the system to AWS, and monitoring the post-migration system. Duties and responsibilities This position requires Linux and AWS expertise in support of the migration of the Air Force’s Automated Funds Management System (AFMS) application to the AWS cloud.  Examples of duties required include: + Perform daily administration of production and development servers in a RedHat Linux environment. + Comply with standard operating procedures. + Assist with software and operating system installations, patches, and upgrades. + Monitor system performance, security, data integrity, and optimal use of resources. + Perform diagnosis and resolution of problems. + Ensure data/media recoverability by performing system backups and database archive operations. + Develop a plan for migrating AFMS to the AWS cloud + Execute the migration plan. Specialized Knowledge + Experience with RedHat Linux 7 or above + Ability to develop, modify, and execute Shell scripts + Knowledge and experience with VM Ware + Ability to develop, modify, and execute Kron jobs. Education Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field . Professional Certifications CompTIA Security + Clearance No clearance required Experience 3 to 5 years of Linux system administration U.S. Citizen or Similar Must be a U.S. Citizen Skills and Abilities Experience with Linux system administration and AWS cloud migration. Other Characteristics (e.g., Personal or Language) Excellent oral, written, and communication in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with personnel from other companies, government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members.
