GovCIO is hiring a Windows and Linux System Administrator to support Veterans Affairs operational needs. The role requires AWS, Windows, and Linux administration experience, with strong database management skills, to maintain infrastructure and ensure system security and performance. This position is fully remote within the United States.
Responsibilities Plan the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies. Ensure data integrity and facilitate electronic health record modernization.Establish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware, in both networked and stand-alone configurations. Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve technical issues. Coordinate and perform operational and maintenance activities for networks/servers. Identify recurring problems and recommend solutions to minimize impact and frequency. Ensure system integrity and perform upgrades to systems and/or servers as required. Plan the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 8+ years of commensurate experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows and Linux system administration. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience :
RHEL 6, 7, and 8RAID Volume Shadow Copy ServiceAWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified). Experience with Jenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence, Ldap, open Ldap Tomcat 7, OpenShift, VMWare 6.5 Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process.
