About Houston

 

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

 

The LinkedIn Social Media Advisor is a pivotal member of ExxonMobil’s corporate brand marketing team, working closely with employee communications, media relations, advertising, and integrated communications leads to enhance and protect the company’s reputation. This role focuses on managing LinkedIn social channel, owned and paid posts, and executive LinkedIn profiles, ensuring maximum brand impact and enhanced user experience.
As an avid LinkedIn champion, you will oversee our corporate LinkedIn channels and communities, collaborating with market-specific channels to maximize brand impact and enhance user experience. You will build strong relationships with internal executive leaders, analyze performance data to uncover insights and cultural trends, and manage message crafting and creative content development to engage business leaders, investors, policymakers, and employees.
You will be a passionate advocate for integrated communications and marketing across ExxonMobil’s entire ecosystem, including owned and paid content. Leading an agency team, your responsibilities will encompass content creation, amplification, community moderation, social media management and optimization, reporting, employee advocacy, and more.

What you will do

 

We seek a visionary eager to innovate and serve as a relentless advocate for LinkedIn social media within ExxonMobil. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working closely with a demanding executive team to consistently exceed expectations.

 

 

Lead and manage ExxonMobil’s global LinkedIn social media strategy, as well as corporate social strategy generally. Own and manage corporate social channels Oversee key executive LinkedIn profile management, ensuring consistent and impactful presence Build and nurture strong relationships within ExxonMobil’s corporate communications team Drive and deliver the strategic direction of LinkedIn content and outreach Oversee corporate social media governance and corporate social media guidelines Direct agency in community management and social listening activities and leverage those insights and information cross-functionally where and as appropriate Lead strategy sessions with agencies and oversee the development of creative briefs to influence LinkedIn messaging direction Manage paid media placement budgets for LinkedIn campaigns and integrated public affairs efforts Serve as the subject matter expert for LinkedIn content distribution, amplification, and audience development Set and oversee LinkedIn social media tactics, partnering with teams on paid social media efforts as well as set clear goals and objectives, track metrics, and develop reporting systems to monitor, evaluate, and continually improve LinkedIn strategy and tactics Build and strengthen relationships with key internal audience segments and stakeholder groups to enhance LinkedIn literacy and content story mining Establish and sustain leadership for LinkedIn guidelines and standards within the company Actively manage the pulse of LinkedIn social media as it relates to corporate reputation and positioning Assist in the creation and development of social media budget and manage within expectations Establish, build and nurture a strong network of relationships within Exxon Mobil's corporate communications team Assist in the creation of and help drive and deliver the strategic direction of digital and social for ExxonMobil including channel, content, and outreach strategy Oversee and inform digital communications and content, and coordinate key internal messages and drive company-wide campaigns across functions Help drive strategy sessions with agencies and oversees development of creative briefs to influence messaging direction Manage paid media placement budgets for campaign sprints and integrated public affairs efforts Serve as the subject matter expert for creative; content distribution and amplification; and audience development and management Help set and sustain leadership for digital and social guidelines and standards for the company Actively manage the pulse of digital and social for ExxonMobil as it relates to corporate reputation and positioning About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Prior experience in tech-related, energy, or manufacturing industries with demonstrated knowledge of LinkedIn content trends. Expertise in the latest LinkedIn communication channels, trends, and tactics. Stellar editing skills, with the proven ability to write (AP style), edit, and proof content for LinkedIn. Successful experience in a complex, fast-paced organization with a demanding leadership team. Proven project management skills with multiple, simultaneous, high-priority initiatives. Creative thinker, with a passion for innovation and excellence in LinkedIn social media management. Credibility as a highly identifiable, engaged leader known for driving creativity, innovation, and teamwork Excellent interpersonal, judgment and creative problem-solving skills Strong vendor management and negotiation skills High level of proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel Excellent attention to details and are highly organized Work efficiently, are dependable and have an entrepreneurial spirit Professional and strong verbal / written communications skills Must be self-motivated and results-oriented Some weekend/evening coverage may be required Familiarity and interest in thought-leadership around issues related to energy, economics, the environment, corporate citizenship, and government relations A positive, proactive team-oriented attitude, culturally sensitive and ideally familiar with the working environment of a large, international organization Understanding and respect for international protocols, and cultural differences Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong internal and external relationships Proficiency in social media management tools, specifically experience using platforms such as Khoros, Sprout Social, Hootsuite or Sprinklr for scheduling, monitoring, and analyzing social media campaigns.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

 

Bachelor's Degree minimum (in marketing, business or communications, preferred); advanced degree in business discipline also advantageous Demonstrated 8+ years of experience in communications, digital strategy, and social media – including specific expertise in LinkedIn Your benefits
