Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Job DescriptionThis is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage content for Noticias Telemundo Ahora streaming channel.Build show rundowns and segments, edit video and scripts when needed.Tracking news and events; coordinating coverage with digital/linear managers and assignment desk producers.Produce breaking news and update stories as they happen instead of waiting for a scheduled newscast.Anticipating the needs of news coverage and help coordinate video, graphics, scripts and other elements.Newsgathering savvy. Must have social media knowledge and be able to work in a fast pace.Write sharp headlines, scripts and segments.Work with the entire digital team to develop and produce special content using the resources and storytelling of the entire newsroom.Help coordinate interviews in the field and producing stories for audiences on digital and social media platforms.Demonstrating expertise in timing in a control room environment.Ability to work in hybrid scenarios such as control room or Tricaster room when needed.Guide talent, producers and the technical team in the control room.Works under the News Digital division and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsQualifications/Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent.Minimum 5 years of experience working in a newsroom in Spanish and at least 2 years of experience in crafting and building show rundowns in cable, broadcast or digital environment.Experience creating digital video content in a newsroom is helpful.Demonstrated success operating in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work under tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast.Detailed knowledge of social media and the competitive digital news environment.Familiarity with editing systems such as AVID and Adobe Premiere required.Prior experience with iNews and Flowics.Available for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Understanding of SEO is helpful.Additional InformationAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
