Key Responsibilities

The Deferral Management planner will be responsible for researching open deferred items to identify those with the least time remaining and those that impact our customer experience or overall operational reliability. Responsible to analyze deferred items and troubleshoot utilizing applicable technical manuals to update the log page with pertinent information, including parts, special tooling, station capabilities, ground time required. They will provide guidance to leadership and resource planning to support potential required headcount resources.  Utilize his/her technical knowledge to set up deferred items for a positive outcome at the line maintenance level. Collaborate with Tech Support or Engineering as needed for the difficult and chronic issues.

Conduct review of all open deferred log items identifying those with least amount of time or high impact to our customer experience and overall operational reliability. Including reviewing history and troubleshooting each open deferred item to provide best possible outcome to clear the deferred item.Proactively Identify the parts, special tooling, engineering and/or vendor support required, and man hours to complete the task. Update the log item with all updated information to ensure our colleagues are set up for success Review databases of both line and base maintenance capabilities  Assure the company’s goals for safety, security, and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any non-compliance observationsSupport and uphold United’s metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities Monitor any inconsistencies and adjust to improve overall fleet efficienciesThis is an on-site, in office, full time positionQualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

·         High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent

·         3 years in the aircraft maintenance industry

·         Must be flexible and willing to work any shift in a 24 hour/7 day a week operation including weekends, nights and holidays

·         Up to 10% travel

·         Strong background and knowledge of aircraft and engine maintenance systems

·         Knowledge of how to read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs and Engineering documents

·         Excellent communication, analytical and computer skills

·         Ability to multitask and be detail oriented

·         Flexible and capable of adapting to constant change

·         Ability to successfully work well in a team environment

·         Excellent problem-solving skills

·         Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

·         Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

·         Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications)

·         College Degree in Aviation or Business Management

·         FAA Airframe and Power Plant License

·         2 years of maintenance planning experience

·         2 years in an aircraft maintenance management role

·         Working knowledge of Maintenance Programs and aircraft routing 

 


The starting rate for this role is $32.46.
This is also a bonus eligible position (i.e. profit sharing).
