LIMS Project Manager
Job Title: LIMS Project ManagerJob Description Reporting to the Director, Research Project Management, the Project Manager, IT Specialist LIMS will develop and maintain project plans, incorporating activities, internal/external requirements, and key interdependencies to deliver tangible results against project and corporate goals. Responsibilities + Direct and coordinate multiple projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. + Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of projects focused on LIMS, RIMS, and biostatistics analysis systems. Ensure projects are aligned with business objectives, laboratory workflows, and overall strategy. + Lead efforts to track project progress, manage risks, and ensure project deliverables meet established timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Implement necessary adjustments to keep projects on course. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Laboratory Operations, R&D, and external partners, to implement projects based on requirements, project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and establish clear timelines for project milestones. + Identify, define, prioritize, and communicate risks to successful project execution; develop and monitor risk mitigation and contingency plans. + Maintain financial accountability for assigned projects ensuring budgets are established, followed, and change controls managed appropriately. + Create presentations, dashboards, minutes, and reports to communicate project status, key internal metrics, and/or risk mitigations to project participants and stakeholders. + Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and ensure effective communication between internal teams and external partners. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or a related field. + 3+ years of project management experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries. + Experience with software development projects in life sciences is required, with LIMS or ELN preferred. + History of motivating others to deliver on important milestones while maintaining a positive, transparent, and collaborative team environment. + Proficiency in MS Office (MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and MS Project or Smartsheet. + Capable of creating/updating detailed project timelines and driving alignment of team members in terms of planning, scope, and executing against the timelines. + Must display strong analytical and highly proactive problem-solving skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. + Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, timeline-based environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + PMP or other project management certification preferred but not required. Work Environment The opportunity will be a flexible part-time role, 10-15 hours a week. The candidate will need to be available for all meetings and can work in a hybrid or remote setting. The role involves working closely with the Director of R&D/Project Manager, LIMS Admin, and IT Director.
