Our Surgical unit is a 32 bed unit that takes care of wide variety of medical surgical patients. Our primary patient surgery population are neurosurgeries, general abdominal surgeries, thyroidectomies. We provide training for general medical-surgical, Telemetry, & Neurosurgery. Job Summary Job Summary Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients. Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy. Documents nursing care and activities. Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures. Assists the departmental assistant with clinical matters · Maintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment. · Assists with the training of other staff. Qualifications Education Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse. Experience Prefer previous hospital experience. Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary. If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance. . (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification Current Oklahoma State LPN License or active Multistate LPN License. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training for duration of employment.
