Offers may very depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** The Licensed Clinical Social Worker is a key member of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush. The LCSW provides clinical consultation to assess and treat individuals with common mental and behavioral health conditions and their family members in a multidisciplinary outpatient practice setting, on inpatient, and hospital units and within the home and school communities. Insight and direction for patients will be offered to ensure that clients are connected to other services and support in the community, at school or in another appropriate setting. The LCWS works in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. The person who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Applied Behavioral Science required. • Current State of Illinois licensure as LCSW required. • Two years of previous social work experience in healthcare, care management, mental health and/or social services • Excellent interpersonal skills and solid knowledge of community resources, demonstrated organizational skills. • Ability to assess patient and family needs, able to ask appropriate questions. **Preferred Job Qualifications:** • In-depth experience working with patient groups. • Experience with evidence based therapies. • Strong active listening, critical thinking, judgment and decision making skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. • Proficiency with MS Office Suite. • Ability to sense problems or potential problems. • Ability to apply inductive and deductive reasoning to information received and identifying relationships between seemingly unrelated events/information. • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. **Disclaimer:** The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements. **Responsibilities:** • Interviews, assesses and evaluates clients and families who present themselves for care; provides professional outpatient counseling and treatment with the goal of maximizing personal/family stability. • Prepares intake summaries, treatment plans and case summaries while maintaining on-going confidential records. • Charts member's treatment and progress in accordance with state and other regulations and in keeping with accepted community standards. • Develops implements and evaluates treatment approaches for clients and affected family members, including individual, family, group or intensive therapeutic modalities. • Confers and consults with physicians and other care team members regarding client's progress and treatment; this may include conferring with attending physicians regarding hospitalized clients regarding recommendations for treatment plans. • Utilizes resources within the community that support children and families to meet treatment goals (these community resources will offer options for referrals to external resources for the client and/or family members). • Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of programs within the psychiatry department at Rush. • Develops and conducts psycho-educational classes and groups. • Supervises the work of social work interns. • Performs related duties as required.
