JOB SUMMARY
The Library Associate 3 is the Cybrarium’s senior role in the Library Associate job family and may have some supervisory capacity. The Adult Services Library Associate 3 will plan, schedule, and implement library programs for adults of all ages, as well as work with other staff members to develop and implement programs using the Cybrarium’s Makerspace. This role includes a significant amount of time on a service desk assisting patrons, overseeing volunteers, and communicating patron requests to library administration.
The Cybrarium is open seven days a week, Weekend and evening hours are required for this position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
An Individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
Plans and presents adult programs including technology, craft, and other classes. Programs may be conducted in-person and as pre-recorded videos or streaming virtual events.Builds partnerships and participates in outreach events related to Adult and Technology services.Manages the access and use of the Cybrarium Makerspace, including placing of supply orders and equipment maintenance requests.Inputs planned programs into shared tracking system and maintains accurate statistics of programs.Works with the Marketing Coordinator to design marketing materials for print and digital distribution.Works with the programming team to plan, implement and promote programming activities.Provides customer service to patrons by greeting, providing tours and assisting patrons.Provide proficient reader’s advisory services.Informs library patrons of rules of conduct as necessary, and enforce those rules when appropriate.Assist with the circulation of library materials, including shelving and pulling of holds for patrons.Assists with library opening and closing procedures.Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.May coordinate volunteers/interns and assign duties, providing necessary training.May edit pre-recorded virtual programs using video production software. May delegate tasks to LA2s for smooth service desk workflow and/or program success with the approval of the appropriate supervisor(s).Develops appropriate collections such as Adult FictionOther duties as assigned. An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education,
training and/or work experience required.
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Two years of experience in a library support or paraprofessional position; or an equivalent combination of library experience, relevant curriculum or program development, instruction, and presentation experience. Knowledge of adult literature, educational resources, and developmentally appropriate programming is preferred.Ability to work a regular schedule that may include a combination of days, evenings andweekendsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to move from place to place within the location; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to (25) pounds and occasional up to (35) pounds such as files, books, stacks of paper, and other materials.Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.BENEFITS
